ABOUT
Our springs are located in the rolling hills of northern Chester County surrounded by thirty seven acres of virgin woodland. Great Oak is a state approved source which has consistently provided pure spring water since 1913.
Great Oak Spring and Bottling was purchased by K-D Services (parent company of the former St. Lawrence Dairy Co.) in 1980. The bottled water business was expanded into Berks County and included cooler rental and coffee service until 1997, when it was sold to Ephrata Diamond Spring Water Co. The spring itself and surrounding property were retained, and the spring water vending has been in operation since 1998.

What kind of containers do you recommend customers use?

We strongly recommend using containers specifically made for drinking water only.

Customers are responsible for providing their own clean, sanitary containers.
How do you recommend customers clean their containers?
-
You may occasionally want to refresh used containers by shaking a mixture of two tablespoons of baking soda per gallon of water, empty, thoroughly rinse, let air dry and recap. Store all containers in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.
TO SANITIZE:

Use 1/2 teaspoon of liquid bleach per gallon container.

Mix bleach and water by shaking and let stand five minutes.

Empty container, thoroughly rinse with clean water, let air dry and recap.
Where does the water come from?

The Great Oak Spring is a state approved and permitted source.

Water from the spring is filtered to 0.2 micron absolute rating and sanitized by ozonation at the source.

The water is transported to our vending kiosks by trained operators using 3A certified food grade stainless steel tank trucks.

Our state approved vending systems include an NSF approved UV sterilizer, just before dispensing into each bottle for your added protection.

The water is tested for coliform bacteria by a state approved laboratory weekly and a long list of potential contaminates annually.

Our trained technicians thoroughly inspect, clean and sanitize our vending machines on a regular schedule.

Our water is tested weekly by a Department of Environmental Protection approved agency. Our water is absent of Coliform Bacteria, contains 2.6 mg/L of Sodium, and less than < .02 mg/L or Iron.
